I liked Geforce Experience for updating the drivers though. I do not know how Nvidia thinks it would be acceptable to hijack commonly used hotkeys without any warning. I read (here: ) that it's possible if you press delete when asked for the new hotkey, but how the hell is anyone supposed to know with zero indication in the UI?Īnyway, I uninstalled. First of all, it was kind of hard to find the record/overlay settings in the first place - then there is no option to unbind. Once that's open, you'll see several options appear. Well, culprit found, but the real struggle starts when you want to unbind those hotkeys. Once you're in-game, just hit the GeForce Experience hotkey Alt+Z by default and the GeForce Experience overlay will appear on screen. Here, you’ll be able to customize the Replay length, video quality, resolution and even frame rate. In the next menu, you’ll notice that there are multiple options that you can fiddle around with. MSI exclusive Crosshair overlay helps you aim and shoot better on FPS gaming. Open up the GeForce Experience Share overlay by clicking Alt + Z, and then go to Customize under Instant Replay.
#Geforce overlay hotkey driver
I don't know why Geforce Experience started to hijack my hotkeys today and not earlier, maybe it was triggered by another hotkey - I cannot recall using Geforce Experience recently, apart from driver updates. Intel Core i9 processor and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics. I spend quite a bit of time trying to resolve the issue when I accidently hit Alt-F8 and some Nvidia-style thing popped up telling me to enable some "Instant Replay/Capture" thing I've never ever remotely had the intention to use. When I was working today, a keyboard shortcut I use every few minutes (Alt + F7) did no longer work. As far as I know, GeForce Experience has has not updated itself recently.ĭoes anyone know what could be causing this? Or at least a way to view the logs to find the problem? - as you would expect: the most record-worthy moments are happening when I can't record.Īnd lastly, fuck you Nvidia! This is the fourth problem I have had with GeForce Experience in less than 4 months, and the combination of no error messages being shown and your abysmal support has made this a royal pain in the rear.I already heard that Geforce Experience is crap - but today I realized how true that statement actually is. I have not installed/removed any software, made any hardware changes, or done anything else to the computer.

It was working fine before I turned off my computer yesterday. I have tried reinstalling GeForce Experience and enabling experimental features, which didn't have any effect. 4 Disable NVFBC Capture on NVIDIA GPU in Steam (if applicable) 5 Enable experimental features.

2 Disable media keys and hardware acceleration in Spotify app (if applicable) 3 Update your graphics driver.

1 Make sure GeForce In-Game overlay is enabled.

If I try to switch it on, I get a "loading" icon for around 10 seconds, then the switch remains disabled and no error message is shown. NVIDIA GeForce Experience overlay not working. In-game overlay is shown as "off" in the GeForce Experience settings. I cannot open the in-game overlay using the hotkey (alt+z), I have also tried to open it from GeForce Experience, but nothing happens.
